Moving Checklist

One month before

• Give written notice to your current landlord (check your lease for the notice period)
• Confirm the new lease is signed and the deposit receipt is in hand
• Book a mover or arrange a truck — prices are lower mid-month

Two weeks before

• Start packing room by room; label every box
• Arrange transfer or new registration for electricity (cash power meter number!) and water
• Update your address with your bank, employer and Irembo profile

Moving week

• Photograph the old house for your deposit refund
• Do a walkthrough of the new house with the landlord and note existing damage in writing
• Test water, power, locks and drains before signing the handover

Moving day

• Move valuables and documents yourself
• Count boxes on and off the truck
• Keep the landlord's and broker's numbers handy
